World War I US Navy Denim Dungaree Jumper without cuffs
The US Navy first started to officially authorize the use of denim in the early years of the 20th century with the first issue around that same time. This denim dungaree jumper came into use just before World War I and saw wide spread use in the Navy during the war. This jumper has a shawl collar, two large patch pockets and is made using 7 oz denim as specified by the US Navy.
I make these by hand when an order is received and takes roughly 2 weeks to make. There was quite a variation in these based on originals and period pictures as far as pockets, cuffs, and collars so if you are interested in a specific variation send me a message.
